From the 15 year old who knew that church was “bullshit”, to the 42 year old man he is today; Gale Harold has inspired many with his charming personality and wise words.
I was first captivated with his acting as Brian Kinney in Queer as Folk, and from then on I’ve watched several of his movies and learned that he does not only have a quirky personality, but a warm heart as well.
Gale Harold decided to follow his dreams, and he wasn’t afraid to do so. Although he went to college for soccer, he soon discovered that his true calling was acting. Instead of shying away from his dream, he went for it. Little did he know that he would soon be a name to inspire many people and aspiring actors to come.
His involvement in QAF is groundbreaking. Never have I seen a man take a character who seems shallow and vain on paper, and make him become something and someone that thousands of fans would fall in love with. Gale portrays Brian magically and brilliantly, and proves that you truly can make a character come to life.
Not on is Gale a brilliant actor, but he is also someone who supports the LGBT community and participates in various charities. He hasn’t let his fame get to him, in fact.. he’s far from being big-headed. Gale Harold still jokes in interviews, while making sure to share his unique and open minded point of view on life. This man is truly himself, and that is why I look up to him.
Happy Birthday, Gale. You’re a true inspiration.
